40th Annual West Point Crab Carnival

After a two-year hiatus from being able to hold our beloved Crab Carnival plus a rescheduled date due to Hurricane Ian, the Town of West Point and the West Point Chamber of Commerce were overjoyed to finally share historic downtown West Point with thousands of guests from around Virginia and beyond for our 40th Annual Crab Carnival!

Our traditional two-day event transformed into one full day filled with Crab Carnival's infamous Tour de Crab bike race, shopping (alllll the shopping), eating (still dreaming about crab cakes and crab mac-n-cheese, y'all), catching up with friends, parade watching, sightseeing, fireworks, and a BIG bushel of fun (see what we did there?). It was truly wonderful to see West Point's historic downtown streets alive with laughter and joy, and we are grateful to all who chose to spend Saturday, October 29th in our little river town.

To the West Point Chamber of Commerce and the Crab Carnival committee, thank you for your hard work in coordinating an amazing event. To West Point's town staff and emergency services, thank you for your great work in ensuring the day ran smoothly. To the volunteers, thank you for being so giving of your time and talents. To our vendors, local businesses, and community organizations, thank you for bringing delicious food, unique products and gifts, awesome entertainment, and more to downtown West Point. And finally, to the thousands of guests who spent your day with us, we wholeheartedly thank you.

To those who visited West Point and King William County for the first time, we invite you to come back and stay awhile. There's much to see and do in our little corner of Virginia, and we'd love to help you plan your stay. First time attending this event...and new to Virginia...moved to Tappahannock three months ago. This town is adorable, and I loved the community participation shown here. The parade was wonderful...it was great people watching and the vendors were all spectacular! -Jamie Patten

West Point is always lovely. Enjoyed walking the tree lined streets, sense of community and visiting with the vendors. -Kim Davis

Last, but certainly not least, make sure you save the date for our 41st Annual West Point Crab Carnival - Friday, October 6th and Saturday, October 7th, 2023!
