Three different, yet distinct buildings make up Wyatt-Ogg Furniture Company, located in the downtown waterfront district of West Point, Virginia. First up is the Main Showroom, an architectural gem located at the corner of 8th and Main Streets in downtown West Point. Originally constructed in the early 1900s as a general merchandise store owned by R. & J. L. Bland and Bell, this building holds a rich history. Wyatt-Ogg's very first showroom and main office found its home here. Stepping inside, you'll be greeted by a recently updated space with a second-level balcony that wraps around the main showroom. From this vantage point, you can take in the unique view of Wyatt-Ogg's expansive upholstery and living room collection.
Next, we venture into the Accessory Building, a place that exudes nostalgia for those who remember its previous life as the "Ogg and Sale" building. Once home to the renowned Poll-Parrot leather shoes, it transformed into Wyatt-Ogg's clearance center in the early 1980s, offering slightly damaged and discontinued products at exceptional value. In 2015, the building underwent a thoughtful remodel, expanding to accommodate the ever-growing need for showroom space. Here, you'll discover a diverse range of offerings, including the reliable Speed Queen washer and dryer; a captivating flooring showroom showcasing carpet, vinyl, hard surfaces, and area rugs; and a colorful assortment of poly furniture perfect for outdoor spaces.
Our journey culminates in the Bedding Store, nestled on the corner of 7th and Main Streets. Formerly a Radio Shack franchise, this building has been redesigned into a grand showroom dedicated mainly to bedrooms and mattresses. As you enter, you'll encounter a haven for those seeking peaceful nights and stylish bedroom furniture. With nearly 20 mattresses on display, including the locally made award-winning Winndom mattresses, you're guaranteed to find the perfect fit for your preferences. The Bedding Store also offers an array of bedroom and dining room groups at various price points. It's a place where comfort and style unite to create the perfect sanctuary.
