Six years ago, we launched Visit West Point & King William (WPKW) as a tourism initiative to celebrate and share all the things that make our region special. Since then, it has grown into something truly meaningful — a way to showcase our community, our stories, and the amazing places that make visitors fall in love with our corner of Virginia.
Today, we’re excited to unveil our new logo — a design that reflects the unique beauty, history, and character of the two localities we’re proud to represent.

Our new look captures the spirit of WPKW through several elements:
-A warm sunset sky reflecting the peaceful beauty of our rivers and landscapes.
-Water and marsh grasses symbolizing the three rivers surrounding us and the natural environment that defines the region.
-A graceful heron standing in the water — a familiar sight along our shorelines and a symbol of our rich wildlife and outdoor recreation.
-A soaring bird representing exploration and the spirit of travel, while also honoring the Native American tribes who have called this region home for hundreds of years.
-The historic King William County Courthouse, built in 1725 and recognized as the oldest courthouse in continuous use in the United States, celebrating the county’s deep history and heritage.
-And of course, the iconic West Point water tower, representing the town’s coastal charm, welcoming community, and small-town character.
Together, these features celebrate the quaint waterfront town of West Point, the beautiful historic countryside of King William County, and everything in between.
And as we celebrate six years of Visit WPKW, it’s clear that visitors love this region as much as we do. ICYMI: The latest data from Virginia Tourism proves it. Visitor spending in West Point & King William County reached $23.3 million in 2024 — a 7.9% increase from 2023. That’s the highest increase in the Chesapeake Bay region and places us in the top 20% of tourism growth across Virginia.
The secret is out. Visitors enjoy exploring the beautiful King William countryside, with its farms, boutiques, and restaurants, and the unique coastal and small-town charm of West Point — from welcoming shops and local dining to recreation and scenic river views. Together, they make WPKW truly a special destination.
A heartfelt thank you to our visitors, guests, and tourism partners, and to the Town of West Point, King William County, local businesses, and community organizations who help make this region shine. We are also grateful for the continued support of Virginia Tourism Corporation and our partners at Virginia.org for helping us share our story across the Commonwealth and beyond. Since 2016, tourism in WPKW has grown steadily year after year, and every meal enjoyed, overnight stay, and shop visited helps our community thrive.
Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, a family trip, or just passing through, we’re always ready to say welcome.
