There’s something especially sweet about fall in King William County — and at Crooked Creek Muscadines, that sweetness is ripe for the picking!

Nestled in the countryside of King William, Crooked Creek Muscadines is a family-run vineyard offering visitors the chance to experience one of the South’s most distinctive native fruits. The farm features more than a dozen varieties of bronze and black muscadines, known for their bold, sweet flavor.

Pick, Sip, & Stay Awhile

Right now, Crooked Creek is in the heart of muscadine picking season, making this the perfect time to plan a visit. Wander the vineyard rows and pick fresh muscadines straight from the vine while enjoying the beautiful rural landscape of King William County.

And there’s more to enjoy than what’s growing on the vines! Crooked Creek also serves up muscadine lemonade, fresh grape juice, and delicious muscadine slushies, along with smoked pork barbecue and all the fixin’s. Come hungry, grab a bucket, and make an afternoon of it.

Just don’t wait too long — muscadine season is short, and availability depends on what’s ripe and ready for picking.

Along with the latest on hours, what’s ripe and what’s happening at the farm, you might catch an appearance from the Merry Muscadine — the vineyard’s owner dressed as a giant bunch of grapes and starring in some pretty entertaining videos. It’s a fun glimpse at the personalities behind this family-run King William business and proof that they don’t take themselves too seriously — even when they’re serious about muscadines.

Growing Something Special in King William

Crooked Creek Muscadines is still growing, too. The family has exciting plans for the vineyard’s future, including producing small-batch muscadine wine, giving visitors another way to enjoy the flavors grown right here in King William County.
