Fruits, flowers, and fish...oh my!

Updated: Feb 5, 2022

Spring marks the start of a special time in our region – from concerts and events, to water recreation, to fishing and other outdoor adventures, West Point and King William come alive as warm weather settles in. And, if you love fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, colorful flowers and garden plants, or seafood, spring and early summer in West Point and King William is especially for you!

Our region is proud to be the home of amazing artisan farms, creameries, watermen, farm-to-table growers, and more. The West Point Farmers Market is open on Saturday mornings in May through September and features fresh produce, meat, and dairy products from several local farms, including Homeplace Farm & Gardens and Bees Knees Farm. If you love freshly made chèvre (goat’s milk cheese), a trip to the West Point Farmers Market is a must.

If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop for produce, flowers and garden plants, freshly baked bread, seafood, and more, add Tommy’s Produce in King William to your list. You’ll thank us!

Love fresh salads delivered right to your doorstep? We bet you didn’t know King William County is home to Dreaming Tree Farms, which grows produce and collaborates with several local farms to create popular handcrafted multi-serving salads that are delivered to customers throughout the Central Virginia region through its salad subscription service.

And finally, if it’s blue crabs, oysters, shrimp, or fish you’re looking for, Three Rivers Seafood in downtown West Point has it all. From perfectly steamed to fresh from the river, you’ll find exactly what you need for your seafood feast. Located on the Mattaponi River, Three Rivers offers a unique shopping experience with sweeping river views. While you’re there picking up your fresh catch, be sure to take in the sights of our local watermen coming in from the river.

This is just a small sample of all our region has to offer for those looking for seafood, produce, flowers, and more. Check out all of our local attractions and plan your visit soon…we invite you to #visitwestpointkingwillam and stay awhile!
