Every day, animals arrive at the King William Regional Animal Shelter needing something different. Some need medical care. Some need time to heal. Some simply need someone willing to believe they deserve another chance.
On Saturday, August 1, Friends of King William Animal Shelter will host its Second Annual Gala at Alturia Farm — an evening centered around community, compassion, and the animals who rely on both. This event was created to support the ongoing needs of shelter animals in our area, from heartworm treatment and emergency veterinary care to recovery support, enrichment, and adoption assistance. Behind every adoption photo is an animal who once depended on that life-saving support.

Guests will spend the evening enjoying cocktail hour, a buffet-style dinner, live music and dancing, raffle, digital silent auction featuring donations from local businesses, and time together with others who care deeply about animal welfare in our community.

But at its heart, the evening is about something much bigger than "just another formal event." It's about people coming together to ensure animals in our community continue receiving the care and second chances they deserve.

Friends of King William Animal Shelter works alongside the Regional Animal Shelter to help bridge the gaps for animals in need through medical sponsorships, adoption support, supplies, fundraising, and advocacy. That support changes lives — not only for the animals, but for the staff, families, fosters, volunteers, and adopters who love them.

Set against the beautiful countryside at Alturia Farm, this year's gala offers an opportunity for the community to gather with purpose while celebrating the compassion that makes this small (but mighty) shelter so special.

The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at Alturia Farm, located at 6101 Dabneys Mill Road in Manquin, Virginia. Admission is a $75 minimum donation per guest and includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner, beer, and wine. Semi-formal attire is encouraged.
Secure your tickets today and join us for a special night where compassion meets action, helping provide lifesaving support for animals with nowhere else to turn.
